The Stilo Basic Electronics Kit is the entry level intercom system for the Stilo Trophy helmets.
It comes with two ear pads with loudspeakers and an electric-dynamic noise canceling microphone on a boom. This kit attaches perfectly to the integrated intercom ports on the Stilo Helmets.
The ear pads do not offer significant noise reduction. If you need noise reduction you should look to the Rally or Turismo electronics kits.
These two kits allow you to retrofit Stilo electronics to other brands of helmets. They are designed for people interested in interfacing with Stilo electronics that your co-driver/navigator is using.
These kits feature the passive noise reducing earmuffs with loudspeakers pre-installed, as well as a magnetic-dynamic microphone. One kit is for Open face helmets, which has a boom for the microphone that must be riveted to your helmet. The other kit is designed for full-face helmets which will require you to mount the microphone to the inside of the chin bar of your helmet.
The Rally Electronics Kit differs from the Basic Electronics Kit in two major ways. The microphone is upgraded to a magnetic-dynamic microphone, and it comes with the passive noise attenuating ear muffs with integrated loudspeakers.
The ear muffs will significantly cut down on the noise level. This is great for anyone driving a very loud car, or at high speeds with the windows open. We do not recommend this setup for seriously high noise level environments like NASCAR or IRL situations. For that, the Ear Buds are the best bet.
The magnetic-dynamic microphone does a better job of picking up your voice, and not the surrounding ambient sound. This goes a long way to aid clear communication which can be crucial in many situations.
Comes in two styles, for closed face and open face helmets. The open face version (for Trophy helmets) has a boom mounted microphone.
The Turismo Electronics Kit is designed to be used with ear bud style headphones for the extremely loud environments of motorsport. We recommend this to anyone running in NASCAR, or IRL, or if you have trouble hearing. The ear buds are more cumbersome, and take longer to put on - but given the correct ear bud headphones they can acoustically isolate you even more than the passive noise attenuating ear muffs can.
The kit comes with the magnetic-dynamic noise canceling microphone, and a hook up for ear bud headphones.
